In the morning of December 14th, 2017, the signing ceremony of technical collaboration agreement was held in Room C307, Binjiang Building at Wangjiang Campus, Sichuan University, between the High Performance Electromechanical Transmission and Transporting Equipment Center at SAA and ExxonMobil company. ExxonMobil’s attendees include Asia Pacific technical manager Alexander Bolkhovsky, general manager of Chinese company Simon Jiang, office manager of southwest district Ingrid Xu and technical liaison consultant of Chinese company Jarod Lu. The academic Chair of SAA Prof. Jiaxu Wang, Associate Chair of SAA Prof. Chongxiang Huang attended the meeting.
At 10:00 am, the meeting officially began, Associate Chair Prof. Chongxiang Huang expressed a sincere welcome to ExxonMobil corporation, and introduced the history, talent cultivation, scientific research capability and social work of the school. The project leader Prof. Jiaxu Wang introduced the research team in terms of discipline direction, talent team, research platform and project outcomes in the High Performance Electromechanical Transmission and Transporting Equipment Center. Then Prof. Jiaxu Wang led ExxonMobil attendees visiting the “985 Project” key technology innovation platform for aerospace engineering, especially the High Performance Slide-roll Tribological Property Test Rig involved in this project. He made a detailed presentation about test principle, mechanical structure, control system and test range, and demonstrated the stability and repeatability for tribology performance curves measured from low speed to high speed.
At the meeting, Alexander Bolkhovsky, ExxonMobil Asia Pacific technical manager, spoke highly of the preliminary work of the High Performance Electromechanical Transmission and Transporting Equipment research team, and expected the following long-term cooperation. Then he gave a detailed speech about the corporation history, products and market prospect, and attached great importance to Chinese market and cooperation with Chinese university. After that, Simon Jiang, general manager of Chinese company, made a supplement, and introduced technical investment of ExxonMobil in China. After the friendly communication, the two sides agreed on the project technical collaboration for lubricant testing, which is used in transmission systems in the areas including aeronautics, astronautics and robotics. ExxonMobil Asia Pacific technical manager Alexander Bolkhovsky and academic dean Prof. Jiaxu Wang signed on the project technical agreement. Then, attendees visited university history museum, for a better understanding for university’s historical and cultural heritage.
